Our History.
Volusia Pride was built moment by moment - through conversations, events, advocacy, and the collective care of a community determined to create spaces of belonging.
This Day in Our Shared History is a timeline that traces those moments across the years. This history highlights key milestones, meaningful events, and pivotal turning points that have shaped who we are and how we show up for our community.
Rather than measuring impact only through numbers, this timeline tells the story of people, partnerships, and persistence. It reflects the joy of celebration, the courage of advocacy, and the steady work of building safe, affirming spaces year after year.
Throughout 2026, this timeline will be updated monthly as we look back, uncover, and document moments from our shared past. Each new addition deepens the story, creating a growing record of where we’ve been and how far we’ve come.
As we explore this history on the website, we invite you to follow along on social media for our “This Day in Our Shared History” posts, where these moments are shared in real time, tied to the dates they happened, and brought to life through photos, stories, and community memories.
Each entry honors a past moment while reminding us that our work is ongoing. Our history is not behind us; it is active, evolving, and deeply connected to the future we are building together.
Welcome to our story.
