How to Use the Florida State House Website

The Florida State House website - flhouse.gov - is a great resource for Florida citizens. The website provides various ways for you to stay informed about the state legislature, your representative and other tools to stay on top of new legislation and bills moving through the government. 

  • Find out who represents you.

    • On the homepage of flhouse.gov, click on Find Your Representative. Enter your address and city to find your elected officials, districts, and how to contact them.

    • Learn more about your state representative

      • Clicking the Full Detail button provides you with additional information about your representative, including party affiliation, committee assignments, biographical information, sponsored bills and contact information.

  • Finding bills 

    • At the very top of the site, a bill search and statute search option is available

    • The Bills page provides a more detailed search option and a list of current filed bills.

    • Clicking on a bill will provide the bill title and number, who filed the general bill, and any co-sponsors. It will also give you a summary of the bill, the effective date of the bill, potentially why they filed the bill, and the bill's last event or what committee the bill is. You can also see related bills. 

    • Read the full bill by clicking on the Bill Text link. 

    • Lobbyist Disclosure Information link will provide information on the lobbyist, their principal, and their firm.

  • Review Committees

    • Click the Committees tab to see a list of the current committees, as well as committee history.

    • Click the links on each committee or subcommittee to see who’s on the committee and when the next committee meeting will be held. 

    • Click on view notice to see what they will be discussing at the upcoming committee meeting.

    • Video and audio archives are also available. 

  • Tracking

    • You can create an account with Flhouse.gov to track bills, members, and committees.

    • Click on the Tracking page to find out more, including the online Tracking User Guide.

  • House Schedule

    • The House Schedule link is regularly updated with upcoming events and broadcast information.

    • Selecting a date will tell you the meetings scheduled for the day, times and locations.
