OUTfront Scholars Application

OUTfront Scholars is a youth leadership and community-organizing program for young people ages 15–22 who want to create meaningful change in their communities. Through monthly gatherings, Scholars build confidence, strengthen leadership skills, learn how community organizing works, and take practical steps to turn their ideas into action.

Monthly Gatherings

OUTfront Scholars meets once a month in DeLand. Each month, participants come together to explore leadership topics, connect with peers and mentors, identify community needs, and develop projects that make a difference. If you are passionate about advocacy, creating events, improving access to resources, or bringing people together around an issue that matters, OUTfront Scholars offers a supportive space to learn, lead, and grow.

Participants can expect to:

  • Build practical leadership, communication, and teamwork skills

  • Learn how to identify issues, engage community members, and organize for change

  • Connect with other young people who care about their community

  • Explore ideas for projects, advocacy, and community action

  • Gain real-world experience that can support future school, work, and leadership goals

You do not need prior leadership or organizing experience to participate—just curiosity, commitment, and a desire to help make your community better through positive change.
